Chesapeake Dragons PDL Team to Play at the Maryland SoccerPlex!

The Chesapeake Dragons Premier Development League (PDL)Team will be calling the Maryland Soccerplex home for most of its 2004 season. Considered one of the premier soccer venues in the U.S., the Soccerplex is located in the fast developing community of Germantown, MD.

"We've enjoyed working with Chesapeake in the past and look forward to hosting their matches at the stadium" said Soccerplex Director of Operations, Keith Lenert.

Apart from the 3000-seat stadium venue where the Dragons will also be able to host night games for the first time, the Maryland Soccerplex boasts 19 world class fields, The Discovery Sports Center, game room, cafe, Shady Grove Adventist Wellness Room, and meeting spaces.

The new venue will mark a new chapter for the four-year old club and according to Chesapeake Chairman, Lincoln Phillips, "Moving to the Soccerplex will help us create an excellent atmosphere for fans and players as well as tap into the rich soccer tradition in Montgomery County".

Bowie State University will host two home games, June 5 vs. Carolina Dynamo and June 20 vs. Raleigh CASL Elite. "Bowie State University have been wonderful hosts and we will continue and expand our relationship to areas beyond hosting games" mentioned Chesapeake President, Sheldon Phillips.

The Dragons home opener will be on Sunday May 16 against the Williamsburg Legacy. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth under 12. Season tickets are available for $30. All tickets can be purchased on the Dragons website, www.cadragons.com or at the game site.
